A pretty decent read. The first maugham book i've picked up and is called a classic by many. I couldn't relate to all the literature bourgeoisie gimmicks, but the first person perspective and the character of Rosie Driffield, i think evokes a lot of sexist culture themes that are current today. i.e women who sleep around are seen as whores, while men who do the same aren't put down. It was slow, but good. Nice I think.
